The Christmas Tree Project is Looking for Elves this Year

By November 8, 2021David Fein

We already have over 10,000 requests for trees (way ahead of last year!) and are looking for elves who want to help spread some Holiday cheer by becoming an elf this year. Check out for details on how you can be an elf and help.

Preparations are well under way for the 2021 Christmas Tree Project’s annual giveaway of Christmas trees and decorations. And this year is going to be the biggest yet! We are very pleased to be partnering with [ yellow tail ] wine to distribute more trees to families in across the country.

Elf Headquarters

The ValuSource team bands together each year to help with the preparations for the annual Christmas Tree giveaway. All year long we take donations of Christmas trees and decorations at our office in Colorado Springs. Currently we have six large rooms stuffed wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling with donated trees and decorations. On December 4th the elves will sort through the donations to get ready for the big giveaway on December 11th, where hundreds of families come to get a free tree.

How Requests are Handled

Each request is considered, with no questions asked. If the recipient is in Colorado Springs or surrounding areas, they are invited to the annual giveaway event to get a tree. If not, then the elves do their best to find donors close by. This is how the project helps families from across the United States and abroad. Donors range from individuals wanting to spread the Christmas spirit to retailers eager to help their community. We also have a special program for vets to help these families receive a tree.

Shift from Making a Living to Making a Difference
David Fein strongly believes that it’s important to make a difference in the world, especially in these challenging times! If you, your firm or your family are looking for ways to spread some holiday cheer this year, we invite you to join this amazing pay-it-forward effort. It is also a perfect team building opportunity if you would like to involve your team, staff or colleagues.  The NACVA elf team has done an amazing job of delivering decorated trees to families in Salt Lake City. We appreciate all the help we can get, even if it is just donating one tree, some lights, decorations or a few dollars.

History of the Christmas Tree Project
David Fein, ValuSource’s CEO and his wife Michelle established the project in 2010, the project has given away over 4,000 fully decorated Christmas trees across the US and around the world. The project now receives tens of thousands of requests for trees each year from families around the world. The trees, and decorations, are donated by individuals, malls, tree farms and nursery’s, thrift stores, and even mega-home stores all excited to participate. The program is now the largest of its kind in the world.
