Help ValuSource Spread Christmas Cheer with the Christmas Tree Project

By November 11, 2022November 14th, 2022David Fein

With over 30,000 requests received for trees in 2021, we are expecting 2022 to be another big year. If you are looking for ways to help those in need or simply want to pay it forward, why not become an elf and help spread some Holiday cheer? Check out www.thechristmastreeproject.org for more details on how you can get involved.

ValuSource is Elf Headquarters

The ValuSource team bands together each year to help with the preparations for the annual Christmas Tree giveaway. All year long we take donations of Christmas trees and decorations at our office in Colorado Springs. Currently we have six large rooms stuffed wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling with donated trees and decorations.

How Requests are Handled

Each request is considered, with no questions asked. If the recipient is in Colorado Springs or surrounding areas, they are invited to the annual giveaway event to get a tree. If not, then the elves do their best to find donors close by. This is how the project helps families from across the United States and abroad. Donors range from individuals wanting to spread the Christmas spirit to retailers eager to help their community. We also have a special program for vets to help these families receive a tree.

Distribution of Cheer

For recipients in Colorado Springs, the tree giveaway happens on the second weekend in December. If someone can’t pick up their tree, we try to find a volunteer elf to deliver it. There are also times we send the recipient a Walmart gift card to buy a tree and trimmings.

Shift from Making a Living to Making a Difference
If you, your firm, or your family are looking for ways to spread some holiday cheer this year, we invite you to join this amazing pay-it-forward effort. It is also a perfect team building opportunity if you would like to involve your team, staff, or colleagues.  The NACVA elf team has done an amazing job of delivering decorated trees to families in Salt Lake City. We appreciate all the help we can get, even if it is just donating one tree, some lights, decorations or even a few dollars.

History of the Christmas Tree Project
David Fein, ValuSource’s CEO and his wife Michelle established the project in 2010, the project has given away over 5,700 Christmas trees across the US and around the world.

The project now receives tens of thousands of requests for trees each year from families around the US and around the world. The trees and decorations, are donated by individuals, malls, tree farms and nursery’s, thrift stores, and even mega-home stores all excited to participate. The program is now the largest of its kind in the world.
