Advocate Software 2011 Updates
What’s New in 2011?
* New Occupations Catalog data sets with 2010 data
The data includes three separate categories of occupations data. In the first choice, you will find National Cross-Industry Estimates with 827 occupations. These tables show the Mean and the Median
(50th percentile) wage level, and the 10th, 25th, 75th, and 90th percentile wage levels for each occupation for hourly and annual earnings.
* New employee benefits tables from the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ March 2010 Employee Benefits Study
This year, we have included all 14 tables from the BLS employer cost tables. These tables are of two types, the first type showing detailed fringe benefits cost information, and the second set showing
data aggregated into main categories. This type of table does not permit you to choose sub-categories of benefits, but does show the average benefits over the industries shown. This is the study that is
now used in all of the Wizard sections of the three programs.
We have also kept the National Chamber of Commerce (CofC) tables for this year, although they are no longer doing the survey that yielded this data. This is the study from the CofC using data from 2008
which provides the values for the CofC Fringe Benefits module of the programs.
* New Life Expectancy Tables from the National Center for Health Statistics
National Vital Statistics Reports, Volume 58, Number 10, Released March 2010. This report presents period life tables by age, race, and sex for the United States based on age-specific death rates in
2005. The tables presented are based on a newly revised methodology. For comparability, all life tables from the year 2000 forward have been re-estimated using the revised methodology and are presented
in the ‘‘Technical Notes’’ section. This report can be downloaded from the web site of the National Center for Health Statistics. The life expectancy tables can be seen in the 2010 Update Data spreadsheet
that accompanies the PC-Economist programs, and are used by all PC-Economist programs.
